Robotic Adrenalectomy
Removal of an adrenal gland for tumors or hormone-producing conditions.
Book Consultation →The adrenal glands sit on top of each kidney. Robotic adrenalectomy provides precision around critical blood vessels through small incisions. This approach is used for adrenal tumors, hormone-producing conditions such as pheochromocytoma or aldosteronoma, and other adrenal pathology requiring surgical removal.
Surgical Priorities
Every robotic adrenalectomy is planned around three core objectives.
1. Safe Tumor Removal
Complete excision of the adrenal gland and tumor with careful attention to surrounding structures, including the kidney and major blood vessels.
2. Vascular Control
Precision around major blood vessels. The adrenal glands have a rich blood supply and sit near the vena cava and renal vessels, requiring meticulous surgical technique.
3. Hormonal Management
Coordinating with endocrinology when needed. For hormone-producing tumors, proper preoperative preparation and postoperative hormonal management are essential for patient safety.
